Francisco Javier Calvo - Defense Attorney

Francisco Javier Calvo has a diverse and extensive background in civil litigation matters including USERRA claims. Before, being a Plaintiff’s Attorney, Mr. Calvo worked as a defense attorney hired by insurance companies to defend their insured’s and the insurance companies’ interests.  Thus, Mr. Calvo knows how to evaluate a claim from the insurance companies’ perspective and understands how to successfully overcome this major obstacle.

After graduating from South Miami Senior High, Mr. Calvo served in the prestigious United States Army First Airborne Ranger Battalion from 1985 through 1989. While in the Army, Mr. Calvo became the second youngest soldier to be promoted to the rank of Sergeant. In addition, he graduated from Airborne School, Ft. Benning, Ga., Ranger School, Ft. Benning, Ga., The Marine Corps Sniper Instructor School, Quantico, Virginia, Special Forces SERE School, Jump Master School, FT. Bragg, North Carolina and graduated #1 in Leadership from the Non-Commissioned Officer Academy, Ft. Stewart, Georgia.

In 1989, Mr. Calvo was honorably discharged from his duty and service from the United States Army. Following his military service, Mr. Calvo obtained a Bachelor's Degree from Florida International University and his Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Miami School of Law. Mr. Calvo is admitted to practice before all Florida State Courts including the United States District Courts for the Southern District of Florida and Middle District of Florida.  Mr. Calvo is fluent in Spanish
